IPDN will organize
International Conference on Decentralization ICODEC on the theme ‘How
Far Decentralization Goes’. The Conference is going to take place in
IPDN campus on 21st November 2012. The Conference is fully supported by
MoHA Indonesia.
Decentralization is a
global phenomenon which waived all over the world and it is implemented
with full enthusiasm across countries from developed-developing,
east-west, north and south with the variety degrees of implementation
from one to another. Two decades it was implemented, cutting the length
of bureaucracies and dismantling central government role at local level
belief will be better for local people caused their voice and their need
will respond faster and more accurate by local elite. Local disparities
among local government units for archipelago countries such as
Indonesia will be solved when decision maker placed at local level which
assume more responsive, accountable and know better local potential and
people queries. However the results of these policy efforts are often
disappointing or even worse.
First ICODEC 2012 is
a multidisciplinary which provides a forum for the presentation of new
and innovative work on decentralization with emphasis on broad
perspectives on policy process and impact on administration at
national-local level. It is expected that papers will scrutinize in how
the relationship between central and local governments is being
reformed in order to deliver public services better.
ICODEC invite
participants from all over Indonesia-Asia and many other parts of the
world. First ICODEC 2012 strongly encourage scholars and practitioners
to come and to present their research paper. Participants’ selected
papers will be exempt from registration fees and free accommodation is
available for selected presenter.

The conference will be conducted in English.
Key Dates :
• Submission deadline of Abstract on Early September, 2012
• Acceptance of Abstract will be sent on September 30th, 2012
• Submission deadline of Full Paper by October 15th, 2012
• Acceptance of Full Paper will be announced on early November 2012
Best paper will be presented in the conference and some selected papers will be published in proceedings of the conference.
